Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the application of pressure and movement to the soft tissue of the body including your skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Massage therapy promotes the flow of blood throughout your cardiovascular system, relieves stress and tension, stimulates the nerves, and stretches and loosens tight muscles.

At Yoder Chiropractic Center, our massage therapy team is comprised of Washington State licensed message therapists who have thorough knowledge and training in anatomy, physiology, and the bio-mechanics of the human body. Our massage therapists will help you discover how to eliminate your pain and discomfort, and restore your life back to its maximum health potential. Our massage therapists use multiple hands-on approaches; all which provide a diverse, customized, and specific methods of treatment tailored for your specific massage therapy needs.

Our massage therapy specialists can provide relief from the symptoms of neck pain, tension, stress, back pain, headache, and muscle pain. Massage is also a highly recommended treatment option for those who are suffering from sports injuries and those who sustain repetitive stress injuries.

Bruce

Bruce’s passion and endeavors include softball-coaching, football, basketball, full body fitness in reality he has done them all. If he has not participated in your sport he most likely has worked on its most common injuries. The prime purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension, which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Whether one is an athlete, or a desk jockey, minor injuries and muscle tension occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse. Massage aids in recovery and repair of these tissues. Above all, sports massage can help prevent those nagging minor injuries that so often get in the way of optimum performance and achievement. This treatment is not just for the athlete: anyone can benefit from sports massage, including people in physically demanding jobs and those not quite so obvious (occupational, emotional and postural stress may produce many similar characteristics to sports injuries)

Bruce’s experience includes working with the training staff therapist to the Portland Timber Soccer Club and with the Portland Monarchs Football Club performing pre-event and post- event treatment massage on players. He has experience with injuries such as rotator cuff injuries, whiplash, tendonitis, patellofemoral syndrome and many other postural dysfunctions.

Bruce is dedicated to personal wellness. His healthy living is reflected in his calm presence and strong hands. His massage style combines gentle specific stretches with direct focused strokes to release areas of tension and dysfunction. He uses techniques such as Myofascial Release, Thai, Sports Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy to restore optimum function and movement throughout the body. Bruce views the body as a whole with the goal of symmetry and balance, which are essential to health and well-being.

Bruce graduated from Everest College with honors in Vancouver with an emphasis in sports and treatment therapy. Bruce loves to spend time with his family, which are his spouse Jane to whom he has been married 31 years, and has four wonderful daughters Annie, Jill, Kelly, and Kristin, five cute grandchildren, and two awesome big dogs
